Prior to joining INCEIF, Prof. Dr. Mansor H. Ibrahim served the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Management, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for three years (2009- 2011) and the Department of Economics, International Islamic University Malaysia for 12 years (1996-2008). He studied at Washington University where he received his A. B. (Economics) in 1990, A.M. (Economics) in 1991 and PhD in Economics in 1996. His research interest includes monetary economics, money and banking, analysis of financial markets and applied econometrics. He currently serves as Deputy President Academic (DPA) of INCEIF and as Dean for School of Graduate and Professional Studies (SGPS).
Associate Professor Dr. Ziyaad Mahomed stands as a distinguished Shariah Advisor, extending his expertise to over twelve boards of Islamic financial institutions on an international scale. Notably, he holds the esteemed position of Chairman of the HSBC Amanah Shariah Board in Malaysia, underscoring his influence in shaping Shariah compliance within the financial sector.
Dr. Ziyaad’s research and consultancy efforts have left an indelible mark on the global Islamic finance landscape. His focus on innovating Takaful products and models spans diverse regions, including South Africa, Nigeria, Mauritius, and Malaysia. His leadership in numerous consultancies has been instrumental in the development of Islamic Banking windows and the evolution of Takaful in various countries, with notable contributions to the UK, Maldives, Nigeria, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Kazakhstan, among others. He serves as a Senior World Bank Consultant for advancement of Islamic Finance in Africa and South-East Asia.
Mr Hamidi A. Razak, the Chief Risk Officer at Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, as an Adjunct Professor. At the bank, he plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing its risk-related activities. Prior to joining Bank Muamalat, he was the Assistant Vice President, Financial Risk Management, at Bursa Malaysia, and before that, he was with BNM. With nearly 14 years of experience in the banking industry, focusing on risk management, Mr Hamidi has carved the expertise in safeguarding financial institutions against potential risks and uncertainties. He holds BSc (Actuarial Science) from National University of Malaysia and Master in Business Administration (with Distinction) from University of Malaya.
